Alfaisal University is a private, non-profit, research university located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The University comprises the Colleges of Engineering, Science and General Studies, Medicine and Business. The University will commence its programs in Fall 2008 on their new campus located in Riyadh.

The university was founded by The King Faisal Foundation along with the support of leading industry and research organizations such as Boeing, BAE Systems, United Technologies and King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center, whose executives all serve on its Board of Trustees.

Engineering

The College of Engineering, which will be the largest of the Colleges, will offer undergraduate and graduate programs in following disciplines and areas: Electrical Engineering (incl. power, communications, signal processing, electronics, photonics, remote sensing and geodata analysis), Computer Engineering (incl. intelligent systems, language and speech, computer systems, computation), Mechanical Engineering (incl. applied mechanics, thermo/fluid engineering, product creation), Aerospace Engineering (incl. propulsion, aerospace systems, transportation, system dynamics and control), Materials Engineering (including materials processing, materials properties and performance, polymers, nanoscience), Chemical Engineering (incl. catalysis, reactor design, separations, design-systems) and Mathematics.

All programs in the College of Engineering have been developed by renowned scholars from leading universities in the US and the UK, they are designed to be qualified for accreditation according to US and UK standards and requirements.
