Medal record Women's handball Competitor for Denmark Olympic Games Gold 1996 Atlanta Team competition Anne Dorthe Tanderup (born April 24, 1972 in Aarhus, Midtjylland) is a former professional Danish team handball player and Olympic champion. She received a gold medal with the Danish national team at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.[1] She is World champion from 1997, and European champion from 1994 and 1996.
She is married to former professional Danish road bicycle racer Bjarne Riis who won the 1996 Tour de France, and is now the team owner and manager of Danish UCI ProTour outfit Team Saxo Bank. They first met each other during the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, when Bjarne Riis was still married to his first wife Mette Riis.
