Sangje is the title by which the Korean people have known the Ruling God since ancient times.

Meaning

Since ancient times, the people of the East have called the Ruling God of the universe 'Sangje.' Sang(上) means "above" or "highest" and je(帝) means "ruling god." Sometimes "Sangje" is also called "Sangjenim" with the Korean honorific suffix of "Nim" attached.
