- Arthur Meyer (botanist)

botanist ,cell biologist , andpharmacognosist . Meyer is known for his pioneering work describing the structure ofchloroplasts (which Meyer called "autoplasts") and otherplastids . He was the first to name and describe thechlorophyll -containing structures in choloroplasts known as grana. [Gunning B, et al. 2006.
