Grand Hotel (Oslo)

Grand Hotelis a deluxe, full-service, commercial hotel, in Oslo, Norway. It is situated in a very central location on the main thoroughfare, the famous Karl Johans gate, between the Norwegian parliament building and the Royal Palace, within walking distance of Oslo's main shopping and cultural areas, as well as its sights. The hotel was opened in 1874 and is one of the most traditional Hotels in Norway.

Room

The hotel offers rooms which are comfortable and tastefully decorated, providing an ambience that has evolved down the generations. All rooms come with a TV, mini-bar, hair-dryer, trouser press and telephone with a direct outside line.

Restaurants

The hotel has restaurants offering well-known Norwegian and international cuisine. The "Grand Café", where Henrik Ibsen used to eat every day, provides the largest buffet in Norway, serving sandwiches and other such items. The "Julius Fritzner" gourmet restaurant, named after the man who founded the hotel in 1874, is a top-class restaurant. In "Palmen" you can enjoy one of the restaurant's many specialities with a cup of tea, brewed in the traditional English manner. The hotel also has two more intimate, cosy bars, Limelight and Etoile Bar, which offers a pleasant view.
