Teegarden & Van Winkle were composed of Skip Knape (
electric organ , organ pedal bass, vocals), and David Teegarden (drum s, vocals). Formed inTulsa , they took their folksy, humorous rock toDetroit .Their single "God, Love and Rock & Roll" made the top ten and was #22 in the Billboard
Top 40 hits of 1970. At times they worked withBob Seger , appearing live at gigs and even producing analbum together with Seger andguitarist Michael Bruce ("Smokin' O.P.'s", 1972).Teegarden later appeared as the drummer in Bob Seger's
Silver Bullet Band , recording four further albums with Seger.The duo reunited for another album, "Radioactive", in 1997.
