Alsys

The company Alsys, SA. (founded 1980, merged 1995) was a software development company created to support initial work on the Ada programming language.In July 1995, Alsys merged to become Thomson Software Products (TSP),, which merged into Aonix in 1996.

History

Alsys SA. the French company was founded in 1980 by Jean Ichbiah (1940-2007). Also in 1980 the American subsidiary Alsys inc. was formed with Ben Brosgol (from Intermetrics), and Clive Pascal. During merger mania of the 1990s, Alsys was shifted into a series of mergers.

In November 1992, Thomson-CSF acquired TeleSoft and merged it with Alsys. In July 1995, Alsys merged with MUST (to become Thomson Software Products (TSP), [ [http://www.allbusiness.com/technology/computer-software/485724-1.html Alsys merges with Must. | North America > United States from AllBusiness.com ] ] a software development corporation based in Norwalk, Connecticut (with facilities in Norwalk and San Diego, CA), which then merged to become half of Aonix in November 1996.

TSP had been a United States subsidiary of the French multinational Thomson-CSF formed by merging the Thomson subsidiary Alsys of San Diego with Must Software International of Norwalk. The company did not integrate the activities of its two components before its own merger with Interactive Development Environments, Inc. to form Aonix in November 1996.
