Palestinian-American actor and playwright best known for co-writing "Suhmata", a play about the destruction of thePalestinian village ofSuhmata , nearAcre in what is now northernIsrael .Eady was born in 1956 in the
Palestinian village of Buqu'ya in theUpper Galilee region ofIsrael , and took an interest intheater from an early age. He earned aB.A. insocial work from theUniversity of Haifa , and then worked as the artistic director of a theater inIsrael . He then moved to theUnited States to studytheater , earning aB.F.A. intheater from theUniversity of Wisconsin and aM.F.A. indrama and directing from theUniversity of Washington inSeattle .After obtaining his third degree, Eady opened the New Image Theater Company, where he wrote and produced numerous plays, including "Seeing Double" (1991) and "Abraham's Land" (1992). The play "Suhmata", which he co-wrote with Edward Mast about the destruction of a
Palestinian village of the same name in 1948 during the creation of the state ofIsrael , debuted inSeattle in 1996 and has since been performed in various theaters in theUnited States ,Europe and theMiddle East .References
