The Vienna Review

The Vienna Review

"The Vienna Review" (is Vienna’s only English language paper, an independent journal of news, reviews and commentary covering the life and times of Vienna and the Central and Eastern European Region beyond. Published monthly, 10 times a year by the Vienna Journalism Institute at Webster University, the paper is distributed at some 100 newsstands in Vienna and major Austrian cities, in over 150 coffee houses in the city’s inner districts, at English speaking theatres and bookstores, at selected hotels, and at major business and political gatherings of the international community. Subtitled “Voices of a New Europe,” THE VIENNA REVIEW looks at the political, economic and social issues and trends that characterize our times, through the eyes of those who will shape its future. It aims for the highest standards of western journalism in its news coverage, and at the same time, with sections like “Scenes of Vienna,” “Arts and Letters” and “On The Town” seeks both to paint a portrait of Viennese life and introduce English-speaking readers to the breadth and variety of offerings that make Austria such a stimulating place for residents and visitors alike. Staffed by independent journalists, including a core staff of students and graduates of Webster Vienna, THE VIENNA REVIEW carries contributions from across the international community and offers an unusually fresh perspective and continuing insight into the evolving European identity. And perhaps most important, THE VIENNA REVIEW fills a void in the Austrian media landscape, providing a voice and a forum for Vienna’s international community and an even warmer welcome to visitors from all over the world.
