Chup Kamui

Chup Kamui

The solar goddess of the Ainu people. In Ainu mythology, Chup-Kamui was originally the moon goddess but could not bear to look down on all the adultery that took place at night. She therefore begged her brother the sun to switch places with her, which he did.
