It has the longest runway in Ecuador.
Cargo B airlines once operated to the airport with Boeing 747 freighter airplanes, making it the largest airplane to operate at this airport Cargo B.

The airport resides at an elevation of 9,205 feet (2,806 m) above mean sea level. It has one runway designated 18/36 with an asphalt surface measuring 12,117 by 148 feet (3,693 × 45 m).[1]
