Programs
Programs at SBI – Ft. Lauderdale are designed to be 9 to 20 months in length and classes meet both days and nights.
*Occupational associate degrees are available in diagnostic medical sonography and cardiovascular technology
*Diploma programs are available in surgical technology, medical assistant, medical billing and coding specialist, dental assisting with expanded functions, massage therapy and pharmacy technician
Admissions
The admission requirements for attending are an application for admission, enrollment agreement, high school diploma, college transcripts and/or letters demonstrating work experience, financial aid forms (if applicant wishes to apply for financial aid)*, payment of application fee, and completion of the interview acknowledgement form. Sanford-Brown Institute – Ft. Lauderdale is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) to award Diplomas and OccupationalAssociate degrees.
The Medical Assistant and Surgical Technology programs at the Ft. Lauderdale campus are accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) programmatically accredits the Surgical Technology program at the Fort Lauderdale Campus.
Sanford-Brown Institute – Fort Lauderdale (License #3005) is licensed by the Commission for Independent Education.
Campus
The school is located in the northwest section of the Ft. Lauderdale in an office complex. The 31,000 square-feet building houses 13 classrooms, 8 large laboratories, administrative and education offices, a reception area and a student lounge.Technology within labs includes a Holter monitor, MedSim simulator, ultrasound scanners, a plethysmography unit and equipment for urinalysis, hematology, EKG, and sterilization.
