The International Academy of Design & Technology - Detroit is a design and technology based institution. The school traces its history to 1977, when Clem Stein, Jr., founded the International Academy of Merchandising and Design, Ltd. The IADT campus opened in 2003 and is located in Troy, Michigan. The campus is a branch campus of the International Academy of Design and Technology in Chicago, Illinois.

IADT – Detroit offers Bachelor of Fine Arts Degrees in the following:

Associate Degrees Programs at IADT – Detroit include Fashion Design, Interior Design, and Graphic Design.

Admissions

Admission into IADT – Detroit requires a personal interview, enrollment agreement and attestation of graduation from high school or equivalency. Full admission requirements can be obtained by contacting an admissions representative.

Accreditation/Affiliations/Memberships

The International Academy of Design and Technology is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) to award associate and bachelor’s degrees. IADT is approved by the Michigan Department of Career Development and by the U.S. Department of Education to participate in Title IV financial aid programs.

Campus

The IADT - Detroit campus occupies over 44,000 square feet and includes classrooms, computer labs, studios, student resource areas, a library and admissions, academic and administrative offices.

Michigan
Historically, Michigan has been known for the automotive industry with Henry Ford's first plant in Highland Park. The economy today is also leading with information technology and life sciences. Tourism is also a booming area for the state with the natural resources of the Great Lakes, major casinos and hunting season for Michigan.
