The Jacksonville SLAM was a team in the Premier Basketball League. They were a successor of sorts to the Jacksonville JAM.

The SLAM came into existence after a public dispute between the owner of the JAM and his players and coaches on getting payment for services.cite web | url = http://www.jacksonville.com/tu-online/stories/012408/spl_239556244.shtml | publisher = Florida Times Union | title = Jam coaches, players want solution on pay | last = Boleky | first = Mark | date = 2008-01-24 | accessdate = 2008-02-06] After seeming to resolve the conflict, cite web | url = http://www.jacksonville.com/tu-online/stories/012508/spo_240048631.shtml | publisher = Florida Times Union | title = Jam settles with players, coaches | last = Boleky | first = Mark | date = 2008-01-25 | accessdate = 2008-02-06] the PBL announced that the ownership of the JAM had failed to meet obligations and that the league was taking control of the franchise.cite web | url = http://www.oursportscentral.com/services/releases/?id=3588882 | title = Premier Basketball League Takes Over Operations In Jacksonville | publisher = Our Sports Central | date = 2008-02-04 | accessdate = 2008-02-05 ] The PBL records and some of the players were transferred to the league-run entity. [cite web | url = http://www.jacksonville.com/tu-online/stories/020708/spl_244524619.shtml | publisher = Florida Times Union | title = Jam parts ways with Premier Basketball League | last = Boleky | first = Mark | date = 2008-02-07 | accessdate = 2008-02-07] Notably, the coach declined to join the new entity. The owner retained the name of JAM.

On February 13, 2008, USBasket reported that Scott Cooper was named the head coach. [cite web | url = http://www.usbasket.com/pbl/pbl.asp | title = Jacksonville team changes roster, coach | date = 2008-02-13 | accessdate = 2008-02-14 | publisher = USBasket.com | last = Pascucci | first = Gianni]

When the slate of 2008-2009 teams for the PBL was announced [ [http://www.pblproball.com/teamsites/ 2008-09 PBL Team Websites] ] , the SLAM was not listed on it and therefore it is considered folded.
