Lesley Joseph (born 14 January, 1946 in Northampton) is an English actress and occasional presenter of radio and television.

Biography

She is best known for starring in the BBC sitcom "Birds of a Feather" from 1989 - 1997, where she played Dorien Green, the busty next-door neighbour of the main characters Sharon and Tracy. As the gossipy, nymphomaniac Dorien she was a snobbish Jew, who tried to convey the impression of being happily married to Marcus, an accountant, but whose chief interest was actually chasing after much younger men. Her character usually dressed in leopard prints or in sexy leather trousers/skirts; a look that was to her mind, though not to those of her friends, stylish and extremely attractive.

Joseph starred in the ITV soap "Night and Day" from 2001 to 2003, its entire run, playing the show's resident bitch Rachel Culgrin. In 2002, Joseph appeared on a special edition of "What Not to Wear", where she was given a makeover by Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine.

She starred inwhen "The Vagina Monologues" alongside Myleene Klass and Sarah Greene.

She also appeared on My Bare Lady and The BBC's Ready, Steady, Cook, alongside I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! winner Christopher Biggins.

Joseph began a radio show in 2008 on BBC London 94.9 with Christopher Biggins, airing every Sunday between 9 am - 12 pm, and stood in for Vanessa Feltz on her weekday morning talk while the presenter was on holiday in 2007 and 2008.

In December 2008-January 2009, Lesley can be found in Plymouth, where she is starring in the Theatre Royal's pantomime; Cinderella, alongside Matt Slack and Laura Evans.
