Soutsaka Institute of management and Technology

The Soutsaka College of Management and Technology (SCMT) is an autonomous educational institute founded on December 2, 2002 to help meet the growing need for vocational and technical education as well as human resource development in the Lao People's Democratic Republic. SCMT operates based on a not-for-profit maximizing philosophy. SCMT is located in the center of Vientiane Municipality, Lao P.D.R. SCMT was accredited by the Lao Ministry of Education to offer Bachelor and higher Diploma degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Communication arts, Accounting, Language Studies and carry out research in related fields. It is the first educational institution in Laos to offer Communication Art program.

To meet the growing need of quality consulting services for the development of Laos, the Soutsaka College of Management and Technology (SCMT) established its Consulting Division to provide professional consultancy services for public sector agencies, regional development agencies, and business community in Laos.

In July 2008, name of the Institute was changed from the Soutsaka Institute of Management and Technology (SIMT) to the Soutsaka College of Management and Technology (SCMT) to comply with new regulation of the Ministry of Education and the notice from the Private Education Department about the term Institute shall not be used as part of name of a private educational institution.
