"Elachorbis diaphana" is a minute sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Cyclostrematidae.

Distribution

This species is endemic to the Foveaux Strait area of New Zealand.

Habitat

This rare species is found living on oyster shells.

hell description

This species, known only from the obviously immature, unique type specimen, differs from "Elachorbis subtatei" in having finer and more numerous spiral threads, that commence at the suture; in "Elachorbis subtatei" there is a distinct plain subsutural sulcus, before the spirals commence. Adult specimens are awaited.

The shell height of the immature type specimen is 0.4 mm, and the width is 0.75 mm.
