Vilém Slavata z Chlumu a Košumberka (IPA2|ˈvɪlɛːm ˈslavata; "Wilhelm Slawata von Chlum und Koschumberk" in German) (
December 1 ,1572 -January 19 ,1652 ) was a Czech nobleman from oldBohemia n family. Emperor's administrator (from 1615) and chancellor of Bohemia (1628-1652) became famous as co-victim of Defenestration of Prague 1618. He was a representative ofFerdinand II, Holy Roman Emperor , who was involved, along withJaroslav Borzita of Martinice in the 1618 Defenestration of Prague (also known as "The Second Defenestration of Prague").Work
He is also known as writer of an important monumental (14 large-scale books!) reminiscence named "Historické spisování" ("Historical writings") in which he comprehensively describe the causes and initiation of the Bohemian Revolt, the 1st phase of the
Thirty Years' War . His great annals (written between 1637-1651) are focused especially on the events of the years 1608-1619 on the territory of theCzech lands .
