"Tasmocrossea benthicola" is a very small sea snail or micromollusc, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Cyclostrematidae. It is the only species in its genus.

Distribution

This species is endemic to New Zealand, found in the Tasman Sea off the west coast of the North Island.

Habitat

This snail is found at depths of about 535 m.

hell description

The shells are minute, thin, white, , sculptured with regular strong axial ribs, 24 on the body whorl, and with distinct interstitial spiral lirae. The umbilical area is completely filled by two plaits, the inner one being a continuation of the last axial. The peristome is circular and continuous.

The shell height is up to 1.05 mm, and the width is up to 0.97 mm.
