Narouei

Narouei

Many tribes live side by side in Sistan&Baluchistan, and all have played a major role in the development of the region, both economically and socially. The Shah of Iran understood that it was not possible to take on the challenges of border, especially the understanding between tribes who traded with one another on a daily basis. Trust among the Baluchi people was high during the Shah period, but leaders of the region were given power by Tehran because they understood the community and cultural changes. The role of Narouei's in Sistan&Baluchistan was that of keeping the peace in the region, developing trade and maintaining Persia's integrity. The Narouei Tribe had been given the trust of Tehran and the Narouei's accepted this trust as a sign of pact between the Capital and the tribes of Sistan Baluchistan. The more trust Narouei's were given, the stronger the region had become, economically and culturally. An exaple: In Sistan Region the trust of border control between Iran and Afghanistan was placed in the hands of such famous leader as SarDar Nazar Khan Narouei who among other leaders in the region worked to develop trust among the people who worked and traveled across the borders on a daily basis. However the new regime taken on by Mullahs lacked trust in any tribe, and this would later prove to be destructive to both the region and more devastating to the family fiber of the region, but that is another stoty. Sistan& Baluchistan would remain strong and powerful during the Shah era, not because of Imperialism, but because the tribes of Sistan&Baluchistan are best left alone to run the region themselves, and no one has been able to achieve better sustainable success ever since this trust was taken away from them and new ideology was imposed by revolutionaries of Tehran. In Baluchistan there are the Reeggie, Barahooi's, Narouei's and Shahbaksh's, among the most famous tribes, and are mostly looked upon to keep the peace in this region by developing the region economically and keeping the peace with the Central power. Among the Narouei tribes are Khan Mammad, who fathered famous men such as Agha Khan, Nazar Khan and Taj Mammad. Sar Dar Malekshah Khan was another great leader who lived in the Nosratabad region, and helped build trust among other tribal leaders in the region by condemning dispute and encouraging peace. These great leaders together attempted to keep the peace in the Baluchistan region, even when Tehran had attempted dispute among one another. In fact the Narouei tribe had witnesses the deaths of thousands of their family to hangings, death squads, and torture by the existing regime. On one occasion Hagi Noor Mammad, a famous Narouie in Nosratabad had witnessed the hanging of three of his sons in one day when Tehran had accused them of illegal activities. Hangings were supposed to impose fear among the Narouei Tribe as Tehran reckoned them too strong of a family that worked closely with other tribes in the region. The Narouei Tribe had always accepted Iran as an integral part of their existence and most believed that together with Tehran they could do their part in the development of the region, but trust never materialized from Tehran and even till today they stretch out their hands in accord but are sanctioned instead. For sometime the Narouei Tribe had been under a careful eye of the Mullahs, and all means have been taken to undermine their ideologies. Now the Narouei Tribe is at a cross road, similarly to all other tribes in the region, where their trust among each other is at the lowest levels ever, and even when it comes to trust among brothers it no longer exists because of current government policies. The Narouei tribe faces great challenges ahead, to build their identities as it once was of great leaders in the region, but as long as current policies exist, this will be difficult to achieve. The loss of moral has led many to addiction and migration to foreign lands, and even the new generation faces great threats among each other, the lack of trust and jealousy and envy has become the major destructive force within this once great family. to be continued JN
