"Today's Sunbeam" is a daily newspaper in Salem, New Jersey, United States. Its main competitors are "The Philadelphia Inquirer" across the Delaware River in Pennsylvania, and the "Courier-Post" and "Burlington County Times" in South Jersey. [ [http://www.njinsider.com/newspapers01.htm#The%20Courier-Post New Jersey Insider: Newspapers A-D] . Accessed February 1, 2008.] It is a sister newspaper to the "Gloucester County Times" and "Bridgeton News" (in Cumberland County), as all are owned by Newhouse News Service.

Founded in 1819 as the "Salem Messenger", the present-day "Sunbeam", re-named in 1972, has expanded its readership from just Salem to cover all of Salem County's local news as well as the most important national news. It is the least populated county in New Jersey with only 65,000 residents. Situated in the southwestern portion of the state, "Today's Sunbeam" has easy access to both Philadelphia and the Jersey shore communities, which include Ocean City, Atlantic City, and Wildwood, among others.
