Bucharest Warriors

Bucharest Warriors

Bucharest Warriors is an American football team in Romania, founded in 2007 by a group of football fans from the Romanian capital. Together with Constanta Sharks, it is the first team to have brought the sport in Romania, and the first team to organize an American football game in the country, the contest with Moldavian team Kishinev Barbarians.

Because, prior to 2007, American football was inexistent in Romania, there still isn't any Federation in the country, to organize a national championship. Hence, Bucharest Warriors isn't yet affiliated to any league, and plays only friendly games. But, together with Constanta Sharks, Iasi Sevens and the other few teams that emerged in different Romanian cities during the last months, it is believed that a national championship will eventually be organized, sometime in the near future.
