Known as Enfield Power Station (originally Enfield Energy Centre) this has been operated by
E.ON UK sinceMay 6 2005 , being bought for £109 million and became E.ON's fifth gas power station in the United Kingdom. Construction was started in September 1997. It was commissioned in December 1999. It employs twenty seven people.It was opened as the Enfield Energy Centre Ltd, being owned by [http://www.indeckenergy.com Indeck Energy Services] and Enfield Holdings BV, itself jointly owned by NRG Energy Services and El Paso Energy.

It is a CCGT type natural gas power station. Using an
Alstom GT26B2.2gas turbine . Waste heat is recovered by a Combustion Engineeringheat recovery steam generator to drive an Alstom Steam Turbine unit connected via a SSS clutch to the main powertrain. It connects to theNational Grid via a transformer at 132 kV.References
