==Career==at the age of 9 maurice began playing football for polygon and then princess villa in the ellesmere port league, then moving after a season was picked to play for ellesmere port and cheshire,after impressing in both sides was asked to go for a trial at crewe alexander. Doyle began his professional career as a trainee at Crewe Alexandra along with Rob Jones and Craig Hignet where he made his senior debut in 1988. He signed for Queens Park Rangers for £80,ooo in 1989, where he spent six seasons but failed to feature, save a handful of games in the Premier League.maurice made his premier league debut against ipswich town in a 1-1 draw in 1994 playing another 4 times agains norwich city ,wimbledon,oldham athletic,manchester city and liverpool. He made his most first team appearances at his next club, Millwall, after a £25,000 move, having been signed by Mick McCarthy maurice then went on to play for two other managers at millwall,Jimmy Nicol and Billy Bonds.
After being released by the Lions three seasons later at the end of the 1997/98 season, he had a trial at Shrewsbury Town but was only offered a months contract. Instead, he dropped into the non-league with Telford United where he played until 2000.
The midfielder has since played for several clubs since in the Welsh Premier League and English non-league. He is currently player-manager of Cheshire-based Castrol Social FC winning the pyke cup in 2008 maurice can now be often found playing for queens park rangers in the football masters
