Konstantin Nicolayevich Igumnov ( _ru. Константи́н Никола́евич Игу́мнов; OldStyleDateDY|May 1|1873|April 19–
March 24 ,1948 ) was aRussia n virtuosopianist and theteacher of many famous Russian pianists.Igumnov studied under
Nikolai Zverev , and atMoscow Conservatory underAlexander Siloti andPavel Pabst . In 1898-9 he was pianoforte teacher at theTiflis music-school of theRussian Music Society . From 1899 he was Professor at the Moscow Conservatory, where his life's work was carried out.Among his many students were
Bolesław Kon ,Naum Shtarkman ,Elena Beckman-Scherbina ,Yakov Flier ,Lev Oborin ,Maria Grinberg ,Andrzej Wasowski ,Ryszard Bakst ,Anatoly Nikolayevich Alexandrov , Natalia Satina (wife of Rachmaninoff),Bella Davidovich , and the conductorIssay Dobrowen .A four-record (LP) set of Igumnov's recordings was issued by
