The Hamburg state election, 2001, was conducted on September 23, 2001, to elect members to the Bürgerschaft (state and city legislature) of Hamburg.

Ole von Beust (CDU) was able to form a coalition-government with the FDP and Offensive from Ronald Schill. He was elected as first mayor instead of Ortwin Runde (SPD), who had been mayor since 1997.
