Herman Cheung is the James L. Knight Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the
University of Miami inCoral Gables, Florida . He specializes in Medicine (Geriatrics andRheumatology ) andOrthopedics andRehabilitation . His areas of research interest are Regenerative Medicine/Tissue Engineering and the Effect of Biomineralization and Aging in Osteoarthritis. Professor Cheung joined the University of Miami faculty in 1996.In 1968, Professor Cheung received his B.S. in Biological Sciences from
Loyola Marymount University inLos Angeles, CA and received his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from theUniversity of Southern California in 1974.After finishing school, Dr. Cheung spent the next three years as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Biochemistry at USC. From 1977 to 1996, he worked as a Professor of Biochemistry and Orthopaedic Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI.
