Hull East is a borough constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. Hull East's current MP is the former Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott. On Monday 27 August 2007, it was confirmed that Prescott would not seek re-election at the next general election.
