Armaan (Urdu: ارمان), the Pakistani Urdu melodramatic black and white film, produced by Waheed Murad and directed by Pervaiz Malik. It was the first Pakistani film to complete 75 weeks in cinemas and, thus, became the first Pakistani 'Platinum Jubilee' film. The film was picturized in black and white prints and in beautiful locations of Karachi. Release

"Armaan" was released by Film Arts on 18 March, 1966 in Naz Cinema in Karachi. It completed 34 weeks on Naz and 76 weeks on other cinemas in Karachi and became Pakistan's first Platinum Jubilee film.

The songs became extremely popular among the youth and the 28-year old hero, Waheed Murad, became a new style icon, perhaps the greatest the country has discovered so far. His distinctive hairstyle became the most popular fashion with young men. Waheed Murad's photo was not an unlikely thing to be found in a college girl’s purse.
