Irene Hirano

Irene Y. Hirano is the president and chief executive officer of the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles. She married Senator Daniel Inouye of Hawaii on May 24, 2008 in Beverly Hills, CA and honeymooned in Carmel, CA. [http://www.azcentral.com/ent/celeb/articles/0130inouye0130.html]

She is the Chief Executive of the non-profit National Center for the Preservation of Democracy and is a member of the board of the Ford Foundation. She is the chair of the Kresge Foundation and vice-chair of the American Association of Museums. She is a trustee of the California Japanese American Leadership Council; Little Tokyo Community Council; and the LA Inc. Convention and Visitors Bureau. She is also on the Business Advisory Board of Sodexho.
