(1997)Destroy Erase Improve is the second full-length studio album by Swedish metal band Meshuggah. It was released on July 25, 1995, by Nuclear Blast.
Destroy Erase Improve was groundbreaking[citation needed] in its use of polyrhythm and off-time thrash beats, and established these elements as instantly recognizable trademarks[citation needed] of Meshuggah's music. Some jazz fusion elements are present in some songs such as "Future Breed Machine", "Acrid Placidity", "Vanished" and "Sublevels".[citation needed] Meshuggah later developed these qualities, abandoning much melody on 1998's Chaosphere and introducing heavier, faster songs.
