Major Philippa Tattersall (born
1975 ,Tarland ,Aberdeenshire ), nicknamed "Pip", is the first (and so far only) woman to succeed in the 9-week Commando course to join theBritish Commandos . She serves in the Educational and Training Services Branch of theAdjutant General's Corps . She succeeded in May 2002 after 2 previous failed attempts, joining3 Commando Brigade , though the British government's ban on women serving in units whose "primary duty is to close with and kill the enemy" means she only providescombat support orcombat service support to the Brigade.External links
