Carolina Panthers seasons

This is a list of seasons completed by the Carolina Panthers American football franchise of the National Football League (NFL). The list documents the season-by-season records of the Panthers' franchise from 1995 to the end of the latest completed season, including postseason records, and league awards for individual players or head coaches. The Panthers, along with the Jacksonville Jaguars, joined the NFL as 1995 expansion teams.cite web| title = Team History| work = Carolina Panthers| publisher = Pro Football Hall of Fame| year = 2008| url = http://www.profootballhof.com/history/team.jsp?franchise_id=5| accessdate = 2008-03-16] The franchise home city is Charlotte, North Carolina.

As of the end of the 2007 season, the Panthers have played over two hundred games in a total of 13 seasons, all of which were in the NFL. In those games, the team has appeared in one Super Bowl, Super Bowl XXXVIII, and lost. That year was also the only NFC Championship win in three appearances. The franchise has won three Division Championships and one Conference Championship.

The franchise has never experienced consecutive winning seasons; every winning season has followed and preceded a losing season. The best year was the 2003 NFL season, the team won the NFC South division for the first time in franchise history. The Panthers had five wins compared to one loss in division play. In the first postseason game, the Panthers beat the Cowboys 29–10 at Bank of America Stadium, in Charlotte. The team then traveled to St. Louis, Missouri to compete against the St. Louis Rams in the Divisional playoff game; the team won 29–23 in overtime. For the National Football Conference Championship, the Panthers beat the Philadelphia Eagles 14–3. The team lost by a last-second field goal to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XXXVIII.cite web| title = Carolina Panthers| publisher = Sportsecyclopedia.com| date = 2007-08-31| url = http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com/nfl/carolina/panthers.html| accessdate = 2008-03-16] [cite web| title = 2003 Carolina Panthers| work = Carolina Panthers| publisher = Sports Reference, LLC| year = 2008| url = http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/car/2003.htm| accessdate = 2008-03-16]
