Pathanamthitta ofKerala , India. Catholicate College belongs to the first group of colleges in Kerala to receive academic accreditation from theNational Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).The college is the foremost educational institution of the
Malankara Orthodox Church , founded by the late Catholicos, His Holiness Moran Mar Baselius Geevarghese ll.The college came into being as the fulfillment of the dream of a great visionary, His Grace Geevarghese Mar Philoxenos, Metropolitan. His Grace's dream came true posthumously in 1952, thanks to the relentless efforts of His Grace Daniel Mar Philoxenos Metropolitan, who became the first Principal of the college.The college has been endeavoring to shape the density of a community in the fullest spirit of its stated mission, “An educated, enlightened society for a brave new world”. And the motto is "FEAR OF THE LORD IS THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM"
The college is affliated to
Mahatma Gandhi University ,Kottayam .There are 4000 students getting their education here. The college has 147 teaching and 147 administrative staff on its rolls. There are degree courses in English, Malayalam, Hindi, Economics, History, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology and Commerce. The college also has research facilities in the Departments of Malayalam, Hindi, Zoology and Botany. The College also has a study center of the Indira Gandhi National Open University.
