Bill Plaschke

Bill Plaschke

William P. "Bill" Plaschke (born September 6, 1958 in Louisville, Kentucky) is an American journalist who has written for the "Los Angeles Times" since 1987. He attended Ballard High School in Louisville. In 1980, he received a bachelor's degree in mass communications from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville in Edwardsville, Illinois where he was the sports editor for the school's paper, the Alestle.Currently, Plaschke is one of the panelists on the sports-themed show "Around the Horn" on ESPN, where he is often referred to by Woody Paige as "Reverend Bill." He is a member of the Baseball Writers Association of America and the Professional Football Writers Association.

Plaschke once was named National Sports Columnist of the Year by the Associated Press. Plaschke is known for his human interest stories, including his 2003 portrait of [http://www.dodgerplace.com/biography.htm Sarah Morris] .
