Rhode Island Patient Advocacy Coalition (RIPAC) is
Rhode Island 's non-profit grassrootsmedical marijuana community. Patients, caregivers, doctors, nurses, health care providers, advocates, lawyers, organizations, and residents all make up a part of the coalition.Current organizational members of the coalition include:
RI Medical Society,
RI Academy for Family Physicians,
RI State Nurses Association,
United Nurses and Allied Professionals,
AIDS Care Ocean State,
AIDS Project RI,
Community HIV/AIDS Mobilization Project (CHAMP),
RI ACLU,
Senior Agenda Coalition (includes: Alliance for Retired Americans, RI; Alzheimer's Association RI; Coalition for Consumer Justice; Forum on Aging; Gray Panthers; Homefront Healthcare; Hope Alzheimer’s Center; Meals on Wheels; NRI Community Services; Providence Teachers Retirees Chapter; Rhodes to Independence; RI Adult Day Centers Association; RI Assisted Living Association; RI Federal Retirees; Senior Action in a Gay Environment; Silver Haired Legislature, RI; Westerly Adult Day Services),
both of Rhode Island's chapters of the American Medical Students Association, at Brown University and at Brown University Medical School,
and chapters of Students for Sensible Drug Policy at Brown University, Rhode Island College, and the University of Rhode Island.
RIPAC is also endorsed by Providence Mayor David Cicilline, URI President Robert Carothers, Brown University AIDS Program Director Dr. Kenneth Mayer, and Dr. Jody Rich (Professor of Medicine and Community Health at Brown Medical School and Attending Physician at The Miriam Hospital).
