The ŠM (for "Školski Mercedes" en:School Mercedes) was the first design of
Josif Mikl for the Ikarus company, it was a side-by-side two-seat biplane flying boat powered by a 100hp (75kW) Mercedes engine.Operational history
The aircraft were used by the Royal Yugoslav Navy as a basic trainer up to the outbreak of the
Second World War . In 1941 a small number of aircraft were captured by Italian forces but they were not used.Operators
