Sanford-Brown - Cleveland was opened in 1996. The history of the Sanford-Brown name dates to 1866 when a professor at Illinois College, Rufus C. Crampton established a school to meet the demands of post-Civil War America. In 1977 Sanford-Brown Institute was founded in New York City. Through the 1980s and 90s the institute expanded across the United States. In 2003, Career Education Corporation (CEC) purchased Sanford-Brown Institute. Additional Admissions Requirements by Program:

Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program
*the applicant must achieve a minimum score of 142 on the CPAt entrance examination with a minimum numerical score of 44.
*Successful completion of postsecondary educational credit equivalent to 48 semester. Or
*a minimum of two years full-time work experience in selected allied health occupations that are patient care related as evidenced by letters from former employers on official letterhead indicating the period of full-time employment, job title, and function. Campus

Sanford-Brown - Cleveland is located at 17535 Rosbough Drive Suite 100 in Middleburg Heights, Ohio, with additional classroom space is located at 7080Engle Road.

The campus includes has seven classrooms for lectures with three computer labs for students. For the Medical Assistant program SBC has two wet labs and a clinic-type setting for the Advanced Massage Therapy students. Holter Monitor, UltraSim simulator and an Ultrasound scanners are included in the imaging lab. The campus also includes a film library house audio and visual aids including reference books.
