Mohammed Yousef Mohamed Alqusaidi

Mohammed Yousef Mohamed Alqusaidi

Mohammed Yousef Mohamed Alqusaidi ( _ar. محمد يوسف محمد القصيدي) is the name or alias of an individual who was responsible for a great deal of the funding of the September 11, 2001 attacks against the World Trade Center. Along with Ali Abdul Aziz Ali, he is considered one of the greatest contributors to the hijackers.

Alqusaidi made wire transfer payments to Marwan al-Shehhi, the hijacker thought to have headed much of the financial aspect of the training and equipping of the hijackers.

The payments were made to al-Shehhi's account with the Dresdner Bank in Germany. In July 1999, al-Shehhi opened a checking account at HSBC in the UAE and shortly thereafter granted a power of attorney over this account to Alqusaidi. Alqusaidi continued to wire funds to Al-Shehhi from this account until approximately November 2000. After this time, the remaining funds were withdrawn from the HSBC account in the form of cash. Approximately $100,000 flowed through this account from July 1999 to November 2000.

There has been speculation that Alqusaidi and al-Shehhi may be brothers.
