television reporter and anchor who has been working since 1988. Since December 2004, she has been the morning and midday anchor forWBBM-TV , theCBS affiliate inChicago, Illinois . She shifted to middays and 5pm on April 14, 2008.Early life and career
A native of the
Washington, DC suburbs in northernVirginia , Tellez earned an A.A. degree fromOrange Coast College in 1983 [cite web|url=http://alumni.orangecoastcollege.edu/News/108.aspx|title=Inductees in the Alumni Hall of Fame|accessdate=2008-04-03] , and a B.A. degree inbroadcast journalism from theUniversity of Southern California in Los Angeles. From 1988 to 1990, she worked forWTLV-TV inJacksonville, Florida before moving toWGN-TV in Chicago, working for the morning and midday team. Prior to her work in Jacksonville, Tellez worked forKQTV inSt. Joseph, Missouri as an anchor and reporter.Personal life
Tellez is married with three children. In her spare time, she works in the fight against
muscular dystrophy , even hosting the localMuscular Dystrophy Association 's annualtelethon annually for the past three years.References
