2008 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships - Men's under-23 race
- 2008 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships - Men's under-23 race
Niels Albert was named the big favorite to win and already in the first lap he stormed away from the rest of the pack, never to be seen, finishing more than half a minute in front of the number two. The battle for the medals was quite exciting as for three-quarters of the race Jonathan Lopez and Lukas Kloucek were together in second and third position, but were caught with less than two laps to go by a group consisting of Clément Bourgoin, Cristian Cominelli, Aurelien Duval and Fabio Ursi. Ursi suffered mechanical damage whereas Kloucek was already tired and had to let the rest go. Duval was able to race away from the group and become second, while Cominelli outsprinted Lopez to take the bronze. All this of course way behind Albert.
