Vazhithala is a small town in the district of Idukki, in the Kerala, India.
Geography
The town is situated between Thodupuzha and Koothattukulam. Vazhithala's Senior Secondary School, St. Sebastins Senior Secondary School, St Antony's LP School and the Shanthigiri Institute run by the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate or CMI are the some of the institutions providing education and training to the children and youth around the town. Hospitals include Mercy Hospital and Mary Matha Hospital. Banks include The Service Co-Operative Bank of Vazhithala, a federal bank, and the Idukki District Co-Oerative Bank.
Life
The town of Vazhithala is the boundary of Manakkadu and Purapuzha Panchayaths, self governing local civil units. Kolady, Poothakav, Purapuzha, Marika are some of the near-by villages. Zico Sports and Arts Club
Since 1986 Zico Sports and arts club is situated in the center of the town. In every onam days this club conduct beautiful tourism attracted programs.
K. L. Thomas Erumelikara is the one of the main coordinators for the first 18 years. In the 25th anniversary Indian cricket star Sreesanth served as a guest.
