The schools mascot is the Falcons and has gone to state competition numerous times winning in both football and basketball.
It is also the home to former Olympian Edward Broxterman who had the unique opportunity to both carry the Olympic torch and compete under its flame in Atlanta Georgia.
B and B High school won the 1982 state football championship oddly on their home turf competing against Little River Windom a school that they lost to only one year before.
The town has lost some good students to tragic traffic accidents some of the names are Edward Deters, Ronald Dureyea, and Roger Hammes
This town has had a rich Catholic history with a strong Catholic church (Sacred Heart).
The town is also home to former Kansas house of Representatives member Bruce Larkin (D).
