The Braxtons were a 1990s R&B group, signed to
Atlantic Records . The Braxtons originally started out in 1989. They first signed as a fivesome toArista Records which consisted ofToni Braxton and her four sisters, Tamar, Trina, Towanda and Traci.Career
In 1990, they released their first single, "Good Life". It would be their only single as a fivesome. "Good Life" was not a hit and The Braxtons were dropped from
Arista Records , but Toni Braxton's lead vocals caught the attention ofAntonio "L.A." Reid andKenneth "Babyface" Edmonds who were in the process of formingLaFace Records and Toni signed as a solo artist. The Braxtons broke up. In 1996, three out of the four remaining Braxtons, Trina, Tamar and Towanda reunited and released their album "So Many Ways ", including a cover ofDiana Ross 's hit "The Boss". The fourth remaining Braxton sister, Traci was not allowed to sign with the group due to her pregnancy at the time. The Braxtons officially disbanded for good after "So Many Ways" whenTamar Braxton also went solo.Later, Trina appeared in the 2004
Tyler Perry play "Meet the Browns " as Tracy Stevens. Plus Towanda appeared in season 2 of thereality show , "Starting Over".Discography
