- Rally of Truth
The Rally of Truth was the name given for the intended protests to be held in the
Socialist Republic of Slovenia in December 1989 by supporters of Serbian Communist leaderSlobodan Milosevic who intended to forceYugoslavia to give greater powers to Serbia and diminish Kosovo's autonomous status. This was done through theAnti-bureaucratic revolution which took place in Serbia's autonomous provinces ofVojvodina andKosovo as well as in theSocialist Republic of Montenegro which the Rally of Truth was to be a part of. The rally was intended to decry Slovenia's Communist representative and leaderMilan Kucan a traitor to Yugoslavia due to his opposition to Milosevic's demand for the diminishment of Kosovo's autonomy and his crackdown on Kosovo separatism. The rally intended to push for his ousting and replacement with a politician with allegiance to Milosevic.
