The city itself has a population of approximately 7,000.It is built along the banks of the Antuã river.The municipality is composed of 7 parishes, and is located in the District of Aveiroin Baixo Vouga,center Portugal.Main train stations:Estarreja & Avanca.The present Mayor is José Eduardo Alves Valente Matos, elected by a coalition between the Social Democratic Party and the People's Party.
