Abdul Aziz Said a
Syria n-born writer and senior rankingprofessor ofinternational relations in theSchool of International Service atAmerican University where he has taught for fifty years. He is the first occupant of the endowed "Mohammed Said Farsi Chair ofIslam ic Peace;" founder and director of AU's "Center for Global Peace,"which undertakes a range of activities aimed at advancing the understanding of world peace; and founder and director of the International Peace and Conflict Resolution department in SIS. Professor Said is a well-known proponent of Asian cuisine (particularly Chinese) in the very early hours of the morning or late hours of the night.Since joining the American University faculty in
1957 , Said has written or edited over a dozen books on international relations and served on a number of notable bodies such as theUnited States Department of State 's "Future of Iraq Project " and theWhite House "Committee on the Islamic World."Books:
