Luigi Poletti (1792, Modena - 1869, Milan) was an Italian neoclassical architect.

Biography

He studied under Raffaele Stern, and directed the reconstruction of Basilica of San Paolo fuori le Mura. He also added a choir to the Pantheon in 1840 and built the theatres in Fano (1845-1863) and Rimini (1857). He also reconstructed the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli in Assisi (1836-40) and Sant'Andrea degli Scozzesi in Rome (1869). His pupils included Virginio Vespignani.
