Information Security Group

The Information Security Group or ISG is one of the largest academic security groups in the world. It is located at Royal Holloway, University of London.

The Information Security Group (ISG) is an interdisciplinary research group comprised of computer scientists and mathematicians. The group offers an active research environment with over ten established academic posts and a large number of research students, making it one of the largest academic security groups in the world. The group regularly hosts international visitors and has strong research links with a number of industrial and government institutions.

The ISG conducts research in areas such as the design and evaluation of cryptographic algorithms and protocols (where it contributes actively to the international standardisation process), smart cards, electronic commerce, security management, mobile telecommunications security, and the integration of security techniques into specific applications.

In 1998 Royal Holloway, University of London, was awarded a Queen's Anniversary Prize in recognition of the work of the ISG.
