- Stan Cockerton
Stan Cockerton was an All-American
lacrosse player at theNorth Carolina State University from 1977 to 1980, leading the Wolfpack to its onlyNCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship tournament appearance in 1979. He is ranked tenth all-time in Division I men's lacrosse scoring with 280 career points. Cockerton, a three time All America, learned the game inOntario playingbox lacrosse for the famedOshawa Green Gaels junior team.He also teamed with
Mike French for the 1978Canadian National Team upset over a heavily favored U.S. Team, scoring the overtime winning goal. He is currently an executive with both theOntario Lacrosse Association andInternational Lacrosse Federation as well the founder of theHeritage Cup .
